Resources

The following resources have been created to support you in your efforts to strengthen the home-school relationship with the families in your school community and to support your community’s digital inclusion.

Our eBooks, webinars and workshops address concerns and challenges that families typically face around digital wellbeing, such as online safety, balancing screen time, engaging children and young people offline and more.

You can promote these resources in your newsletter, at Parents’ Evenings, on your social media and on any family-facing platforms to engage your families and demonstrate your commitment to wellbeing. If engaging your families has been a challenge so far, promoting these resources (some free) could be the step you need.

There is a follow-on webinar and workshop where your parents and guardians can access in-person support to implement digital safety measures, ask questions and interact with other adults with similar concerns.

Based on Dr. Oma Eguara’s popular eBooks — Healthy Digital Habits for Families: For Parents and Caregivers Navigating the Digital Landscape with Children and Balanced Media: A Guide to Creating a Healthy Family Media Plan – this 75-minute session will help you move from ideas to action. This workshop gives you the tools to be intentional and confident about screen time in your home with a plan put together with your family’s buy-in.

Led by Dr .Oma Eguara – founder of TEKSHAQQ, a London-based social enterprise supporting individuals, families and communities through digital inclusion – the session is interactive, supportive, and full of practical tips. With 18 years’ experience in education, a Master’s in Special and Additional Learning Needs, and a PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning, Dr. Eguara brings warmth, expertise, and real-world strategies to help you create balance in your family’s digital life.

In this workshop you will:
  • Explore your family’s media habits, even those you may not have noticed
  • Identify your family values, creating your plan aligned with these
  • Learn how to achieve family buy-in on your plan
  • Learn strategies to support your family’s online safety and wellbeing
  • Develop a personalised media plan you can adapt and grow with your family
  • Connect with other families at the workshop and grow from sharing their experiences
  • Bond over this learning experience with family members if you attend together
