Digital Skills Roadmap

Our Digital Skills Roadmap is a journey of digital skills building which helps participants to assess their present skill level and develop further digital skills.
The good news is that it is free, accessible online and can be completed at your own pace on any of your computing devices.
It starts with the Digital Temp Check which is a quiz to assess your present skill level. We use the metaphor of a mountain climber to help you map your journey. Your score on this quiz will place you in one of three categories: Explorer, Adventurer or Mastermind.
- Explorers have their beginner climbing gear (i.e. beginner level digital skills) and are ready for the journey ahead.
- Adventurers have advanced climbing gear (i.e. digital proficiency) and are midway up the mountain.
- Masterminds stand at the summit, having conquered the challenge of the climb, and are getting ready to touch the sky (i.e. advanced digital skills)!

Digital Media Maker Programme

For 8-11 and 12-16 year olds
In this programme, we will discover what makes you brilliant! And yes, we all are! Through our fun self-exploration activities, we will find out and celebrate the things you are good at and use them to tell your stories.
You can tell your stories with pictures, words, your voice, or a mix of these. Plus, you will get to share your fantastic creations and learn alongside other makers like yourself. We will also explore how people are using the skills you are learning, in their lives and work. And you will get to meet some interesting people who do exciting things with these skills.
Are you ready for a digital adventure of creativity and discovery? Please get an adult to support you in telling us you are interested. Then, click the purple button below to tell us about yourself and we will respond soon. You can also ask questions on the form. There is a limited number of places on this programme so, speak with your responsible adult to get started right away.
For parents, guardians, teachers, activity leaders & homeschoolers
This programme has been developed to support participants’ self-understanding, self-appreciation and self-confidence alongside developing practical digital skills in areas that may be of interest to them. Embedded within the programme is our unique Capacity Building Framework which:
- Helps participants to become more aware of what they are good at and of the digital opportunities that match what they are good at, making for a self-affirming experience.
- Helps participants to grow in self-confidence as they see others like themselves ’doing digital’ in the sessions and in real life – the more confident and self-assured we are, the better outcomes we achieve.
- Provides a guided, immersive, hands-on experience of ‘doing digital’ rather than passive, theoretical learning.
- Encourages self-direction as participants pursue their own interests through digital storytelling and self-expression.
- Supports the development of 21st Century Learning Skills for life and career readiness.
Our founder, Dr. Eguara particularly developed this programme to support children and young people who may not have had positive experiences with traditional schooling. A veteran educator, she has had students who struggled in school due to special and additional learning needs but who thrived when allowed creative expression supported by technology. Dr. Eguara has also brought to bear on this programme her training, work and experiences as a life coach, business coach, and mentor supporting personal growth and achievement in children and adults.
It is one of our aims to deliver participant-led programmes. Therefore, we ask prospective participants to provide some information about themselves and their needs prior to starting with us. This way, they help to shape the experience they receive.
If this sounds like something your young person(s) might enjoy and benefit from, please support them to fill out and submit the form below to indicate their interest.

Digital Ambassadors Programme

At TEKSHAQQ, our Digital Ambassadors:
- Are everyday people.
- Are digitally active – they regularly use computers and the internet in their daily lives, and/or
- Are people who work in roles that require the use of digital technologies, and
- Are happy to share their digital experiences to inspire others.
Research shows that when we can see people like ourselves achieving things that we want to achieve, this can help us to believe that we can achieve them too. Our Digital Ambassadors are people of various ages, abilities, genders, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, faiths, educational attainments and more, who have all embraced digital technologies that have made their lives better in different ways.
They support our work here at TEKSHAQQ by telling their stories and sharing their digital journeys to inspire us on our own. You will find them on our social media pages, in our resources, at our events and in your communities spreading digital excitement and inspiration!
